Meanings of Viking runes - Valknut

Aug 19,2022 | Sulludd

The Valknut is one of the most widely discussed but most mysterious of all symbols associated with Norse mythology. Valknut consists of three interlocking triangles pointing upwards. The (Valknut) sign appears next to Odin. This makes the Valknut logo a symbol of Odin. Many ancient Vikings believed that the sign indicated that Odin welcomed warriors to Valhalla and resided in the Halls of Brave Warriors in Asgard.

Archaeologically, it appears on several Viking-era runestones and pictorial monuments, standing on the Swedish island of Gotland, as well as on the ship burial at Oseberg, Norway.
In the modern sense, the Valknut logo has found favor in jewelry design, home design, and tattoos. Because the wearers of the Valknut believe they will be able to overcome life's ups and downs with Odin's help.
